Beyond the Mirage
The call of Lennon, a generation’s bent,
Fueled dreams of music, a world heaven-sent.
Beyond the melodies, visions unfurled,
Of kindness, knowledge, a future unfurled.
But magic’s illusion began to unwind,
A harsh reality, not the peace I’d designed.
Wonder dissolved, a spirit spent and frayed,
For change, a harsh truth, within me had played.
The world shifted beneath my unaware feet,
A silent defeat, a world bittersweet.
Darkness descended, a weight on my brow,
Death’s embrace, but awakening somehow.
A timeless expanse, a suspended breath,
Gazing above for a solace from death.
A shift in perspective, a truth I unearthed,
Not fear, but a hope for a world yet unfurled.
Rise tall, let your voice pierce the cynical air,
For flaws will persist, a world we can’t repair.
Injustice persists, a constant refrain,
But within, the embers of truth still remain.
Love fiercely, no regrets for a path once tread,
The demons we face, in our hearts they’re all bred.
